LO 5 and 6

This learning outcome is focused on MLA format. I will be using my rough and final draft from prompt two as an example, which can be found in learning outcome one.

My ability to cite sources has changed between the rough and final draft. As far as the formatting for citing sources in text, I’ve never had a problem with that. My main problem was the in text source citation for the mosquito article. In the rough draft, I’d refer to the source as “The Week 13” when I should’ve been referring to it as “Why are scientists”. I fixed this for the most part in the final draft, most part meaning that I forgot to convert one of the old citations. All of my other citations remained the same. For the works cited page, I completely messed up. This may be due to the fact that I didn’t have one in my rough draft, so when I typed one up for the first time in the final draft, I had no mistakes to learn from. Local revisions as a whole wasn’t really an aspect of writing I was focused on when composing the final draft. I would rely on Professor Spain and peers to catch those mistakes for me and alert my attention to them. This was when I would fix them. I’d never really look out for them on my own because I was always too busy focusing on global revisions. This is also why local revisions are my main weak point in this class. But, I’m still learning and I still have room for improvement. (My main weak points specifically were my works cited page and comma splices).
